The area around Kwanza Lodge has an abundance of natural beauty and a vast area to explore. Kwanza Lodge is the base of our activities in the north. Activities within the area include:
Kwanza River cruises: The Kwanza River is one of the major rivers in Africa. It’s unique biodiversity, which includes some of the oldest mangroves in the world as well as a wide array of bird, mammal, fish and reptile species, provides something special for everyone to enjoy! Kwanza Lodge has various boats and can offer you the opportunity to explore the natural beauty within and on the banks of the mighty Kwanza River.
Game viewing in Kissama National Park: Kissama National Park is located approximately 40km south of Kwanza Lodge and provides an alternative adventure for the family. The war lead to the demise of animals within the park, however in 2001, ‘Operation Noah’s Ark’ which was implemented by the Kissama Foundation, restocked the area from animals located in neighbouring countries. ‘Operation Noah’s Arc’ is considered to have been one of the largest animal relocation programmes. The programme was a huge success and game populations have been on the increase ever since.
Exploring Luanda: Luanda is the capital city of Angola. Luanda is a bustling city with many places to see. Luanda’s Ihla is famous for beach bars and is a must for any visitor to the city.
